How it works
The Iron Chef Bike Ride is a fundraising cycling event and cooking competition sponsored by Get Buff Tri-ing (http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/getbufftriing/), a local triathlon training group. All proceeds will benefit The Garden of Hope, a Southeast Asia based non-profit that protects women and children who are vulnerable to human trafficking.
Cyclists:
With the choice of a 30 or 50
mile ride, you will be biking throughout Palo Alto, San Mateo, and Atherton. We will have aid stations set up to
provide you with drinks and snacks. At the end of the ride,
you will be welcomed back with home cooked meals
prepared by our Iron Chef Teams!
This ride is sanctioned by USA Triathlon.
Cooks:
Show off your cooking skills in our Iron Chef Cooking
Competition! On August 29th, 2009, you and your team
will have a chance to feed hungry bikers. Teams will be
randomly formed and your gourmet dishes will be
judged by the returning bikers. Here is your chance to
see whose cuisine reigns supreme!
At the end of the ride, cyclists become judges as they cast votes for their favorite dishes. Ride or cook for a great cause, have fun, and eat!
